All liturgies during Lent will be celebrated in the Church

The Church emphasizes the penitential nature of Ash Wednesday by calling us to fast and abstain from meat.  Catholics who are over the age of 18 and under the age of 60 are required to fast, which means that they can eat only one complete meal and two smaller ones during the day, with no food in between.  Catholics who are over the age of 14 are required to refrain from eating any meat, or any food made with meat, on Ash Wednesday.

All liturgical celebrations during Lent will be celebrated in the Church.  On the literature table at the main church entrance, we have available a selection of materials that will assist you in your prayer life during this Holy Season.

With prayerful best wishes to

Cardinal Thomas Christopher Collins

Archbishop of Toronto

In Loving Memory of

Deacon Michael McFarlane

January 11, 1955 - December 15, 2011

Our parish grieves the loss of Deacon Michael, but celebrates his tremendous service to his family, the community and the church.  We thank Brenda, Michael's dear wife, who was Michael's partner in ministry and who grieves his death.  Likewise we extend to Michael's parents, his children, his grandchildren and sibliings our most sincerest condolences.  Michael was a fine person who loved his ministry in the church and who served with distinction.  His ministry was offered not only in the Diocese of Pembroke, but also in the Diocese of Fort Smith-Mackenzie in Canada's north.  Michael's devotion, kindness and enthusiasm for the faith will never be forgotten.  May he rest in Peace.
